Samuel Gottschall

followed in the footsteps of his father, Mennonite Bishop Jacob Gottscholl, as a schoolteacher and fraktur artist in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. His teaching career was apparently brief and coincided with the sum total of his fraktur output between the years 1833 and 1836. During the rest of his working life, Samuel along with his brother Martin, ran a mill on Perkiomen Creek at Salford.
